This old addage is not necessarily referring to all things good. But it is more dependent on how you may perceive the situation.Simply put, your opinion is all that matters.Something that may seem to good to you.May not seem so good to another person. It is more up to a percentage base than a fact base.Meaning that in most peoples opinions.Things that seem too good at 1st sight.Usually aren't that great in the end.Remember this one major rule.I use this everyday now."It is what it is".Meaning that whatever you see is what is there.Nothing more and nothing less. For example:if you see.smell,&touch what seems to be ****.99.9% of the time it will be **** that you're dealing with.Nothing more and nothing less.Don't be shocked if it turns out to be ****.You knew it all along. The only reason you thought otherwise. Was due to someone else telling you their OPINION and diluting your facts.Or you simply dilute your own facts by trying to make something seem different than it really is.Remember,"IT IS WHAT IT IS"!!!!

Not always. Of course they are if someone is trying to cheat you with a shady business offer. However, if the gift is coming naturally from life, or if it is a gift of love and friendship from someone who is not expecting something in return, then there is no reasons to be suspicious. If you believe that all good things are false or only short lived, then you can't open yourself to the possibility of reality that is good and enjoy life. Sometimes you are given a gift for a reason, though it may not be clear at the time what the reason is.

When we reach for anything with ego, a selfish high, or if something appeals to us in this way, then what we reach for appears good, but it's not true good because ego and pride eventually kill the real goodness in anything, and anything that appeals to our pride is deceptive anyway. Ask any alcoholic or drug addict how things seemed so goosd at first.

Only genuinely good things are good enough to be true; not the false good that appeals to our selfishness.

Good things are true also. When they are too good to be true,m it may be ones wffort to make them true, if it is in human level.

How ever, without the abstract thoughts of good things, how can any one approximate them, aspire for them to be actually true, and fiinally realise them?

Thus, first comes the thoughts of good things, but they ought not stp at this, and it for others to make sure.

No, if something is good then you should enjoy it cause the next thing can be bad, good things just happen because they have to happen and if they happen they are true so enjoy them cause God knows when the next good thing will happen. Hope it helps :D

if something is 'too good', then we have come across something we want more than most other things...it might not be that 'thing' but that 'thing' hints at what we really long for...so for us then, it is a moment of clarity, a moment when we have found what points to our deepest truth...whatever that may be(eternal life, existence of God, true love, power, etc...) ...that is so true, it's good.

I think the only way something can be too good to be true is when we don't let ourselves just enjoy - we THINK it is too good to be true, because we can't handle the bliss

That would make sense according to the famous quote:

"...too good to be true"
