This morning the Republicans in the House voted 175 against and 16 for approving the journal of the previous days business. If they can't even vote for a recording of the previous days business, how can the American people possibly believe they are working for us?

Do you really believe anyone reads the Journal?

Winning at all costs is the game the GOP plays.

Screw the people.

Screw the country.

The republicans can't run on their own achievements and don't want anything to do and this will only get worse when the election comes closer, with the failed Bush presidency so all they have left is obstruction. Make everything the Democrats want to do or achieve for the American people impossible and then point to those same Democrats and say they're incompetent. They're gonna try to run a yeah we're not very good but the Democrats are worse campaign trying to keep as many seats as possible and maybe in their dreams some gains even if the strategy is very successful.

Obstruction is an essential part of the strategy of the American right. See also the classic tax scheme. By underfunding vital government services to the brink of collapse they show government is inefficient and the free market is always better. They don't fund properly and then use the inevitable poor service as a reason to fund it even less or even abolish it.

The only thing the American right is good at is PR because the above example of perverse power politics isn't recognized as such by most Americans but welcomed as the hollow low taxes rhetoric. Facts are Republicans are for big money and don't care about ordinary Americans whether they are Democrats or Republicans

That would be another one of those strategic ways to keep there from being a record of terrible decisions made that negatively impact the average American.

Have you ever seen them slam down the gavel and tell people that they are not allowed to speak except to say certain positive things about the way things are going...

The first time you see something like that, it's shocking... because you don't ever see it on the news.

This country really sucks sometimes.

Bush didn't have to veto a bill for the first 6 years of his presidency. He didn't even have to READ the dam things. He knew his Repuke buddies owned the Congress, so anything that was passed, was fine by him.

I am glad he finally has to lift a finger at his job now. Atleast he is completely useless anymore, well, for the Conservatives anyhow.

There are on the slide down & out, & don't want to do anything! That way, they can blame the inaction on the dems stopping them from doing what needs to be done!
I've known thay haven't been working for me for at least 7 years!

Um, there is a REASON the journal has to be approved. It's not as if it's taken by a stenographer and stuffed into a file cabinet.

Wasn't it Reid and the Dems who shut down Congress last year?

I believe it was

Probably because there were Democratic lies all through the journal?

Maybe Media Matters gave them some lessons on how to record the "truth?"

Could it be possible they (all of Congress) didn't earn their $150,000+ yesterday?
