I never shop that day. Really the biggest shopping day is always the very last Saturday before Christmas.
In some cities it's not uncommon to see shoppers lined up hours before the store opens the day ater Thanksgiving. What a poor way to spend your Thanksgiving weekend!
Once inside the stores, you find it is just a big con. The shoppers often rush and grab, but many stores have only one or two of the big draw items.
Electronics and popular toys are often the most sought after items and are often supposedly discounted to sale prices that are seen on no other day of the year. I doubt that!!!
Because of the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, many choose to stay home and avoid the hectic shopping experience .... me included.
The real Black Friday happened in 1929. Nothing compares!

I work in retail (Target) and so I always have to work on Black Friday. It is so much fun to watch the doors open and all the people run in and then fight over merchandise. I have seen middle age mom's ready to tear each other's hair out. Some of the sales on Black Friday are really good so if you need to save money then it is important to get their early and wait in line. Most of the items that have amazing sales are gone within minutes so to me it does not seem worth it, but many people do it every year.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving while there are various revenues and individuals are doing varied procuring for Christmas. particularly situations clientele get in fights with one yet another, and so on. I rather have virtually laways controlled to steer away from Black Friday. that's a team of hype to get you to spend a stressful day spending all your cash. Who desires that?

yes I do
I think it's pretty fun.
minus waiting in the lines though.
hah every year me and my dad freeze our butts off waiting in line for JCPenny.
we also go to Walmart and best buy, circuit city, and target. We usually are out of the house by 4:30
and apparently that isn't even early enough cuz there are still huge lines when we get there
But i definitely would not wanna miss it. It's a fun experience

I don't go to the stores on that day. It's not worth it to possibly get hurt by pushy customer's. I remember one year on the news they said a woman fell down entering the store and customer's just walked over her and ignored her. :(

I do sometimes, though I used to do it a lot more. My mom and I would be hitting the stores at 6 AM (when that was the earliest they started.)
