Create a budget of your monthly bills and other regular expenses, such as groceries, fuel for your vehicle, fees for public transportation, etc. Then see what money you have left. Of that, decide how much you want or need to put into a savings account. Your bank may have automatic recurring transfers between accounts. If they do, set it up on whatever day of the month you want, and this way you don't have to do it manually. Find out if you can set this up online; you may need to create internet access to your accounts with a username and PIN number. Call them to find out the details (or you can ask over the phone if they can set up the transfer).

Have it directly taken out of your check into a savings so you wont miss it. Its probably too late now, but you should look into Christmas savings programs most banks offer.

It ain't rocket science. You have to save - pay yourself first every payday by putting a set amount into savings and not touching it.

You need to ration out your money to yourself...set boundaries. Pay all your bills first, then pay for other NECESSITIES!!! If you really want to save, then you have to know your boundaries. Good luck!!!
