That depends on the setting, whom am I speaking to, what language am I reading and other factors.

Right now I'm thinking in English. And mostly I think in English in Malaysia, thinking in Malay is simply time consuming and tiring because for every English word there are at least two mile-long words in Malay (eg. Red Bull becomes "Lembu Jantan Yang Merah"). I use Hiberno English to think, if you want me to be more precise. Unfortunately I can't use it when writing because it wouldn't be easily comprehendable, so I usually select more standard vocabulary to communicate.

The language that I think in also largely sets channels for my thoughts since target audience is different. When alone, I notice that I tend to use the language I was thought something in.

When in a multilingual setting I can easily switch between languages and my dreams also come in different languages.

Mainly in English. Then, the next would be in Malay and Thai. If I need to improve my proficiency in a particular language, I'll make myself 'think' in that language... like having some kind of 'dialog' in my mind...
