Golden,

You're wrong. Bush vetoed the bill in part because Dems refused to do what he insisted --- focus on kids and not adults.

That is untrue.

SCHIP program stands for State Children and Infants Healthcare Program.

There are some adults on medicaid which is a different program all together. Those adults are either pregnant, disabled, chronically ill, and/or elderly. If you come to the state of Texas you will find that it is almost impossible to get on medicaid unless you are without a job and homeless.

Looney: Medicaid covers those that are poor with disabilities.

There was no argument with his press conference when President Bush said 6 or 7 states are funding adults who make too much for Medicaid.

There is an SCHIP program and the Dems want to increase the funding to people who make up to $83,000 a year and up to and including age 25!

Which states? Really, I keep hearing this from people but so far I have not seen any evidence. When I do find info on adults and SCHIP, the adults covered usually have some type of handicap or disorder, which seems appropriate.

Bush vetoed the bill for the very reason that he stated. Health care for kids is "inapropriate".

Bush proposed gutting the program. Democrats proposed improving it. The Democrats proposal would have taken some of the money that Bush is funnelling to Haliburton. Of course Bush vetoed it.

Republicans hate kids. They gut health care for kids. They gut educational programs for kids. They gutted head start. They gut welfare for kids. They redicule Hillary Clinton for proposing that the US gives a $5000 college scholarship to kids. They gutted college funding and student aid. They start wars for no reason and send them overseas to die. As I said, Republicans hate kids.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

It is all partisan politics as usual. The Democrats know it isn't about children. They also know a majority of Americans won't research it to find out the truth. It is a real case of B.S..

Do you have any verified numbers or is this just more crap put out by the RNC and swallowed whole by mentally challenged, gullible cult followers?
The use for money for adults has to be waved by HEW, which the last time I looked was a Republican run agency. Put your crayons down and do some real research.

The vetoed proposal actually called for that practice to end. However, because it was vetoed the original practice is still funded. Ironic, isn't it?

Edit: Read the bill.
