Well my dear Johnny PayCheck sang about it but Merle Haggard lived it too. David Allan Coe also did a stint in prison. All three of these great entertainers have been in prison and not outside but looking through the bars.Contrary to some beliefs Johnny Cash went to prison only to entertain at Folsom and San Quentin but was never an inmate. How Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings kept themselves out of prison is another story. I'm giving this one to Merle Haggard because he spent longer in prison.
