Interesting question! The importance of securing peace or world peace for that matter had been recognized by many great men of many generations. But the technical advances of our times have turned this ethical postulate into a matter of life and death for civilized mankind today and made it a moral duty to take an active part in the solution of the problem of peace, a duty which no conscientious man can shirk.
We have to realize that the powerful industrial groups concerned in the manufacture of arms are doing their best in some countries to prevent the peaceful settlement of international disputes and world leaders can only achieve this great end if they are only sure of the vigorous support of the majority of their people.
In these days of democratic government the fate of all nations hangs on the people themselves. Each and everyone of us must always bear that in mind. We must all join hands in order to achieve world peace.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Peace is merely stability and order. It does not necessarily mean that all is blissful and happy. Sometimes, peace can be oppressive and can stifle innovation and thought. At times, it is considered necessary to break from such a peace and create a more preferable environment through chaotic means (revolution).

Peace to me means wholeness, the fulfilment of Being. It is more than quiet or the absence of strife, it is the happiness of justice and equity. Perhaps it is an unattainable ideal, but I prefer to think not. We cannot have peace if any are excluded, each note must sound, each tone find its compliment. But each must accept and attune itself to all the others, a very difficult proposition. It takes listening and comprehension. I think it is mankind's best and highest state. Shalom. Ahimsa. As St. Augustine said, "Our hearts are restless, until they rest in Thee." That is a goal worthy of all our efforts.
If we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

Peace in a personal sense, in ones' immediate environment, has different meanings to different people. For me, it's inner harmony, & that harmony--balance--then extends to the perimeters of my life. Diane M & Gee used this key word. Harmony.
World peace is the same, (harmony), but difficult, if not impossible to acheive. Gee expressed this very well, & Third P was excellent in his comprehensive answer.

Peace, to me, is no major worries at the moment, everything is basically ok.
Peace is achieved by either curling up in my husband's arms, or getting on the floor with my kids.

peace is a beautiful boon. if we are happy within we smile . it is a powerful weapon of love. the family, the society and the entire world can get benefitted. peace is precious. Peace is generosity
The great teachings unanimously emphasize that all the peace, wisdom, and joy in the universe are already within us; we don't have to gain, develop, or attain them. We're like a child standing in a beautiful park with his eyes shut tight. We don't need to imagine trees, flowers, deer, birds, and sky; we merely need to open our eyes and realize what is already here, who we really are -- as soon as we quit pretending we're small or unholy.

Peace is the elimination of all disruptive subjects, and the consciousness of the fact that we are all simple beings. Each with our own agenda, trying to fit in a climate of complications. The "GOLDEN RULE" do unto others, is the best model for us to follow in life. We are like a hundred million before us, and a hundred million to come, however, we are UNIQUE to ourselves. Every one has worth, and our status in life does not personify our person..

Peace to me is acceptance.... tolerance without acceptance is temporary truce and not peace. Acceptance is one of the most difficult state of being we can attain, because it is passive and dormant in character and we often mistake it to be a dilution of our personality or existence.... we think that in order to make our existence felt, we must create ripples, least realizing that these ripples impact us first and foremost before it can ever be felt externally outside of our own self.
