Prairie homes were built buy cutting the sod from the ground and piling it up along each side to make the walls. These were the walls, the ceilings were made with logs, then sod was also piled on top of this, the floors were of dirt, it was packed tight. These were the sod huts of the prairies,

There were no inspections called for. No electric wires, no plumbing pipes to install. Simple constructions.
