50/50 mix of clorox and water sprayed directly onto existing moss. Install aluminum oxide strips every 3 to 4 feet on roof surface to negate future growth.

I used to have moss on my shingle roof. It’s a sign of moisture accumulation.
I resolved the problem by cutting back the branches so that the sun would get to that part of the roof and dry it completely after each rainfall.
You can kill the moss with a dilute solution of ordinary bleach: 1 cup in 1 gallon of water. Spray it onto the moss and scrape off the dead bits after they dry. Be careful not to damage the shingles. Repeat as necessary.
I also had ants living under the moss. I treated them to a borax-based insecticide before they damaged the wood or found themselves inside the house.
When the shingles came due for replacement, I opted for a steel roof so I would never have to worry about that again because the trees kept growing back (I didn’t want to cut them down).

Spray it with a mixture of 10 to 20 percent bleach and water. I use 10 percent and it works fine. If the moss is thick and growing good, use 20 percent. Don't use 50, that is way to much.

Hi I have cleaned roofs in the past Do not use bleach ! It will react with sunlight and maybe destroy the shingles The best method is use a Power washer that is available at rental yards For about 50.00 per-day It uses only water better for the environment and You Steve

I use powdered laundry detergent. I just sprinkle it on the moss and in a couple of days it is dead. If it doesn't rain during the time it is there I use the hose to moisten it. Cheap and effective.
