when you connect or disconnect anything from your computer, you need to make sure the computer is turned off...plugging and unplugging while the computer is working damages the mother board and you will have to get a new one...it's safer to just shut down and unplug...if the usb won't detect still, take it back to where you got it and let them check it out for you...radio shack is a good place to check things out...the guys there are friendly and very helpful...but before you do that, make sure you do have it installed with the cd that came with it...good luck!!!

USB is a wonderful thing - when it works.... Sometimes if you plug a USB device in, let Windows detect, unplug it, and plug it into a different USB port (at any time in the future), the USB will get confused and stop detecting the device. Go into your Control Panel and the System icon Click the Hardware tab Click the Device Manager (Look for any devices with a yellow "!" in front of them and uninstall them) Go to the USB section Uninstall everything in that section Reboot the computer and it will redect the USB ports. When it does, this clears the table of detected devices and the ports start working again.

Its a USB error , see when u have a faulty flash disk or u didnt for some reason properly disconnect the drive when you pulled it out by saying eject and error occurs.Try a different port , if that does not work go to hardware manager and check if the device is working properly if it does the check if all drivers are installed , getting it off youre windows disk and saying repair or checking if the proper software is installed.

Its possible that the USB drive has been overloaded or the Flash is bad.
Drive going to must ensure that you use "Safe Remove Hardware" icon to eject usb devices after use. Try going to your Computer Manage, under Administrator in the Control Box and Disk Manager to see if it can be seen.

Disconnect it, close all programs, plug it back in. If nothing happens go to....
Start
All programs
Accessories...look down the list of accessories for the USB connection you're trying to start....see if it's there.
Sometimes it takes a few tries!
EDIT...can you try a different USB cable? Maybe that one's defective?

sorry, it's bad.
but you can take it for a servicing, if you have the warranty card yet. The other thing you can do is buy a new one. Check if the port is working or not.
