What do you consider "old" ?
I don't care if they have a cell phone as long as they aren't driving and talking at the same time. And to me old is just a number, it really depends on the person.
My mom is in her mid 70's, now she should not be allowed a cell phone because she can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
then she drives and when I'm in the car and her phone rings, I say DO NOT ANSWER THAT! She drove up on a curb talking on her cell phone the last time I was in the car with her. So, some people in their mid 70's are pretty sharp people, so it's hard to judge.
And I don't think the cell phone companies would ever put a band on age because they just want to make sales. Regardless of what "they look like" LOL....
Personally I'm sick of seeing kids on cell phones. I think it's glued to their ears. They are rude, don't pay any attention, walk right into you, and really only need one in case of an emergency.
Oh, let's talk about drivers license......
I think DMV should make them take a test, written and driving every 6 months. I am sick of getting behind an 80 year old who is out for a sunday drive in rush hour traffic going 25 mph on a 55mph highway, because "they are the ones holding up miles of traffice behind them.....OH and they are in the LEFT/FAST lane......ask that question and see how many responses you get....
I still want to know what "you" consider old though?

No - definitely not.
I am sixty-four, so to most of you I am ancient. I don't want a mobile phone because I can survive without talking to anyone for more than five minutes. I don't want to be interrupted in Sainsburys and I don't wish to be contacted when I'm driving.
I also don't want to listen to the rest of you rabbiting on to your friends wherever you happen to find yourselves. If you do, you don't need to speak so loudly because not all old people are deaf.
One of the reasons that people are so reluctant to give up their cars and use public transport is because of the damned things ringing out their moronic tunes in their ears.
Oh and if you don't get a brain tumour caused by having the phone permanently attached to your ear you may live long enough to be old and not be allowed a phone.

These whey's would have informed you that I am a senior citizen and old man. The cell phone is meant for all, there is no age restrictions as per LAW. Do you know that. In fact only old people alone require this type of cell facilities because of their in mobility. One day you will become old and you will relaise the importance of this and regret for the comments you made now.. Well of course I think they should have the same rights as everyone else but I know where you're coming from. I use to work for a cellphone company and they'd come in and couldn't figure out things like how to answer the phone but for emergencies and such it's a very convenient tool. Regardless if you know how to text almost everyone knows how to dial 911

How old is an old person? I'm 60 years old , do you think I am to old to have a cell? I work, have a family and grand-kids I like to stay in touch with and do many other things that require me to keep in touch.

What an ageist question. Why shouldn't older people use mobile phones? My manager is 70 and sends the most hilarious texts. I am 55 years old and have every right to speak on my mobile and to text.

What?! You think we don't have stuff to say, too? I think it looks FAR worse to see a cell phone attached to a young person's ear constantly. At least most old people know that it is a convenience and not a necessity.

Just so all you young people who think we more experience folks should not, remember you will be old one day and someone will come knocking to take your cell phone (and car) away.
Call me on my cell if you have questions, and I'll drive over to your house to explain (Just make sure it is all right turns from my house).

Well...it may LOOK wrong, but it might be more useful for them than us. What if they fell or something, or got ill? Having a mobile phone would be really handy for them.
What looks even MORE wrong to me is the little 10-year-old kids with cell phones...I'm like, "What the crap do you need that for? Your mother has to drive you everywhere, anyway!"
