All over the country hospitals are going out of business because they cannot afford to treat so many illegals.

St. Michael's Hospital in MILWAUKEE WI is one of them. CA and TX have more than us but even 1 is TOO MANY!

Milwaukee has a lot of illegals - this is a welfare state. We have a stupid Gov (Doyle) who wants to give free healthcare and college to illegals. IDIOT!

We would not need to do anything about our health care if we stopped treating illegals of all countries.

It is to the point a regular citizen cannot get help unless we pay a ridiculous fee to see someone.

I saw this on the Border Town in South Texas for ten years. Did you know The Government have even set up fertility clinics for them? I saw that with my own eyes.

No it would not and the government is to afraid to send non- citizen back to cut health cost. The law is one side when it comes to deporting non-citizen. why have law against illegal citizens when the government and the hospitals know of the illegal citizens. If the government start sending illegal citizen back then they will stop come over and they want be looking to for free help.

To your question, the answer is definitely....We are not the golden tree that keeps on producing...
...In Georgia we have allot of very sick Mexicans. I work as a nurse here and have observed that most have hospitalization in excess of 30 days.
...and they bring their old people over and hospitalize them rather than take care of them....we have had Mexicans who have camped out at the hospital for weeks waiting for a relative to pick them up...and the Nursing Homes will not take them if they are Illegal, cause they do not have to....a Ga law passed recently regarding the Nursing Homes.

...Heck, legalize them and tax them and let them see what we have to go through... They are already getting our social services as no one ask when someone applies for food stamps if they are legal...How in the heck can they get public assistance without proper documentation.....it appears we have our money on the trees awaiting anyone who wants to pick it....... We need to give them a reason to go back home by not giving them services if they are not legal except for emergency care, Period!

It has the ripple effect. Hospitals have to charge us more to pay for their costs. Of course that means it is bound to effect the cost of insurance. If it's a hospital that gets government funding then the cost still falls to us one way or another and could reach the point where they have to cut services on somebody or else close down. The picture is not good.

Wow, I finally agree with you on something. Yes, treating illegals is very expensive...I'm a nurse in the ER (in TX) and so many of my patients claim 555-55-5555 as a SS#, meaning they don't have one. The care they get is very expensive and the shear multitude which come in the price has got to be staggering. Something has to be done about this problem because it is costing us Americans too much with no end in sight. It's suprising that the Rep. controlled congress for the last 16 years or so didn't pass anything regarding illegal immigration...

There are doctors available in their country of origin. If America refuses to service them then they will go home of their own accord in order to see a doctor. This appears to be a win-win situation for America since the illegals will eventually get it through their heads that they need to become legal immigrants in order to partake of America's bounty.

As long as politicians see power in giving things away that don't belong to them, this problem will continue to grow.

Open borders and the promise of "free healthcare" is rhetoric to define a class war. As one who sits squarely in the middle class, I am sick to think my tax money goes to crap like this.

For the uninformed "the Hypocratic oath" is do no harm not "we will fix it for free"..
We have a problem. for me, it is one of absolute disregard for the law.
I keep cutting and pasting these two statements into posts as I see them as A. the crux of the problem and B. the solution.

I am sick and tired of it. For me I believe we need to heed Jefferson's call for a change in leadership. It is time to bury the incipent socialist/communist ideas that have been growing in our country over the last several decades. If we don't do it know, we can expect some outcomes that I'd rather not see. I don't want my children and their children saddled with the tyranny of backpocket tyrants.

You are correct ! Nothing is free when it comes to health care ! The Employers of illegals should pay the bill . They will find Americans will do the so called jobs that illegals do . But you will need to pay them so they can feed thier familys . If employers had to pay for the impact of illegals the story would change overnite . Examples court fees for criminal behavior or medical expenses etc...
