More that they are losing fans by having half the post season on cable when quite a few people either don't HAVE cable or maybe not the station they show it on. My first look at the Rockies will be in the World Series.
Frankly, I think in my lifetime baseball will end up being replaced with soccer as the summer sport. And it deserves it, too. I'll always be a baseball fan but Selig, the Players' Union, and all these yuppie ballplayers are moving the sport into the rarefied air of boxing.

I don't know about losing fans they have now, alienating them maybe, but they are definately starting games too late for kids to watch. Baseball was meant to be played during the day without lights, and its sad so many kids can't enjoy the game. I can't even make it through some games, which is why I totally agree with you because I am young and a huge fan, but its pretty sad when I fall asleep in game four of the Rockie's sweep of the D-backs. It also sucks waiting so long in the middle of the playoffs where you seem to lose some momentum and interest. On the flipside, I live in Wyoming, so I do get to watch a lot of east coast games as soon as I'm home from work which is nice. Whatever happens, you can count on MLB going where the money is though, so don't expect more day games anytime soon.

I don't think they're losing fans, they're just pissing us off quite a bit. I dread the nights when my team plays west coast teams because it means the game doesn't start until 9p. I get to watch maybe half of it and then have to check the final score in the morning when I wake up. We still have day games twice a week though. Most Wednesdays we play at 1:00 and Sundays are anywhere from 12:05-3:00. I'm glad there aren't many day games during the week, otherwise I'd miss them all. The delays between games are ridiculous, though. Especially having last night off. It's not like they were going back to Boston. That was absolutely pointless.

Yeah, I know where you are coming from, I mean I live in Cleveland and I prefer the 7 o'clock starts instead of 8:20 starts. I am not looking forward to the 10 o'clock starts for the WS. I can't sleep during the post season because I HAVE to know if the Indians won that night or not. I try to go to sleep, but I end up jumping out of bed and going downstairs to watch the rest of the game.

I couldn't agree any more with you. I can't afford to be tired in the morning at work. Kids can't stay up that late either.
Don't get me wrong I love baseball as I have my whole life. I am a big Sox fan. It stinks that the games go that late because I would love to watch the whole thing. At the same time I can't afford sleep over it.
You are totally right here.

It's not that long of a wait. The Colorado Rockies are still waiting for either the Cleveland Indians or the Boston Red Sox, who are going into game 5 of the ALCS tonight. The Rockies swept the Diamondbacks 4-0.

I think MLB has a loyal fan base, but I agree that the season lasting into November is a little ridiculous, and it wouldn't hurt to put a day game in the mix during post season play.

The third pitch could help yet he additionally ought to be on a greater advantageous team to have a greater advantageous checklist. My team confronted him two times this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and that i think of the two between the rankings from those pastime have been 2-a million and four-3 with us triumphing the two. Being a solid pitcher would not advise plenty in case your offense won't be able to furnish run help. and that i'm no longer asserting the Mets are undesirable yet their team had too many injuries this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

I don't like this one day on one day off thing they're going to do after tonight (if the series even goes any further) - but it's certainly not going to keep me from watching. And I'd pull an all-nighter if I had to... the games are usually starting about the time I get home from work and settled in, so no complaints there...
