cap'n bill, yes the were all liberals, classic liberals. today's liberals are the epitome of tyranny, which is what our founders fought against. you really DO need to re-read your history books...

I have to laugh at all of this, especially at the people using the political labels of today to apply to a situation that existed 230 years ago.

The Founding Fathers were liberals of their age, but it doesn't even compare to the liberals of today. The Founders had no intention of having the government trying to run every aspect of your life; today's liberals want nothing but. The Founders put their lives and fortunes on the line to free Americans from an overreaching, overbearing government; today's liberals want to put YOUR lives and YOUR fortunes on the line to enslave you to a government that is much more overreaching and overbearing than anything George III could even dream of.

I don't necessarily think that the Founders would be conservatives, but I'm pretty sure that whirring sound you're hearing coming out of southern Virginia is Thomas Jefferson spinning in his grave whenever he hears the Democrats claim that they are "the party of Jefferson."

That is good mind game to play.
It does depend on couple of things most assume the founding fathers would side with their point of view.
Taken in context I think they would find some of the tatics familar and some flat out wrong.
Which ones is open for debate.

I don't it would be case of revolution but more like a V-8 bump to the head to get their attention.

Some would a bigger stick to get their attention.

We have very very poor understanding of history.

We always getting people coming back trying to revise it or make it so PC the lessons are lost.

As far as the DNC they would tell them we have bigger problems than making up consiparcies and smearing the troops to prove their point.

Jefferson would remind us the same time of thinking by Muslim was going on then as now and needs to be stop.

That is my take just as good as anyone elses so take your pick.

The founding fathers would be completely disgusted by what our political system has become. The corruption, the infighting, the special interest groups, and the general bastardization of our entire political system would have them wondering why they went to all the trouble in the first place.

Anyone who thinks our problems are party specific are simply ignorant. The problems are deep, vast and on both sides of the aisle. I don't see how someone could even pick a side in cons/lib debate. They're both self serving, corrupt and morally bankrupt.

So, too, would most of the Republicans! This bloated, power-hungry overbearing government bears little resemblence to the limited government established in the Constitution.

Both parties have brought that about. Democrats more egregiously, sure, but both parties have advanced government power and control at the expense of individual liberty and freedom.

Actually, I would say the American Revolution was a complete waste of time and effort. And "conservatives" are so busy blaming liberals, you haven't noticed what this administration has done to the constitution or conservative principles.

This is pretty simple. They say "Look over here at the liberals or congress " meanwhile(with the other hand) the Bush administration has continually done everything not in the republican interest. They must chuckle to see how easy it has been.

It's so ironic, the US and UK policies are nearly exactly alike these days.

No because the founding fathers would have NEVER let the situation get so out of control.

they'd also be pissed that we have freed the slaves, given women the right to vote, and allowed all these damn non-whites into the country. The founding fathers would have a lot of problems with what is going on. They'd also be pissed that local people were allowed to vote instead of just white men with land.

Well let's review.........liberals want to raise taxes, our forefathers dumped British tea into the Boston Harbor to protest higher taxes. Liberals detest religion for fear it might offend people, while our forefathers fought and died for our right to express ourselves religiously. So yeah, I have a feeling our forefathers are rolling over in their monuments right now! If they wanted the government to tax it's citizens in order to pay for social security retirement, meidcare, medicade, welfare, unemployment compensation, and universal health care, I'm sure they would have mentioned it in the Bill Of Rights or the US Constitution!

NO--take a look at the Bill of Rights. That is liberal philosophy, not conservative. Today's conservatives have made their contempt and hatred of our freedom crystal clear.

And we don't need another revolution--liberals are (as we saw last November) using the LIBERAL system of government to remove the unpatriotic right wing from power. We'll finish the job next year.

i'm a conservative and that i might desire to take exception to a minimum of one situation which you elevate. The founding fathers did no longer placed god on our forex or in the pledge. The pledge grew to become into written approximately a hundred years after the founding of the U. S. and initially it did no longer have the textual content cloth "below god" in it. That grew to become into replaced by skill of an act of congress in 1957. The "in god we have confidence" on our money grew to become into located with an identical act of congress in 1957. the unique motto that our founding fathers had on the forex grew to become into "E Pluribus Unim" which meant "From Many One". the only "beginning record" that even mentions god is the announcement of Independence. God grew to become into reported in this record to no longer weave god into the cloth of our usa yet as component of a announcement to somebody that did have self assurance in god. do no longer forget approximately that lots of our founding fathers have been Deists. a number of our founding fathers have been very vocal with regard to the evils of prepared faith pretty Christianity. different than which you're incredibly appropriate, there is not any correlation between the Liberals and the founding fathers. besides, there is not any correlation between the founding fathers and the social conservatives that push for faith in the government. Edit - in no way reported "Separation of church and state" grew to become into in any founding record. it truly is modern-day in "Letter to the Danbury Babtists" written by skill of President Thomas Jefferson. This grew to become into written as a rebuke by skill of the president of the U. S. to a church that grew to become into utilising its non secular impact to foyer congress to bypass rules that enforce non secular doctrine. This letter has in view that been quoted by skill of the suppreme court docket for better than 200 years as a foundation for barring faith from government or government institutions and is to that end regulation. yet as I did say, in basic terms one single record even mentions God and that's the announcement of Inependance not one of the others do.
