I thought that was what this whole yahoo!answers was for was 'serious questions'.
But yes and no, it is bad that so many frivolous questions are asked and stupid answers come back, but it is good that you say seriously, because you are more likely to get genuine answers that can help!
It should come at the end of the question so the topic headline will catch more answerers instead of just reading, Serious Question and no substance before linking to the full question.

so the serious ones i have to put in the right catagory to get the info i need, but isn't it still fun to get the funny answers? it is always fun to laugh, even if it is at a serious question with a goofy answer.....

well, if we don't clarify then how are some people supposed to know if the asker is asking a serious question? *what may be serious to one person isn't always going to be serious to the other person...*
