Why not. As long as there is no adult content. If I could talk to them IRW, why not on the web?

Absolutely not. If a 41 year old feels the need to talk to a 15 year old then it had better be their child.

Wow, My question to you is, "Why isn't this individual talking to someone their own age?
If the individual is a relative of the 15 year old, and the person is just trying to keep in touch with family then it is ok. I am a 50yr old female and I like to keep in touch with my nieces and nephew. Mind you, I am not on line with them every day.
If this person is constantly talking to the 15 year old and he/she isn't family, then I definitely think it is wrong. I would be very careful giving this person any personal information.
Further, are the parents aware of this type of relationship?
If it were my child, I would be monitoring their use of the Internet. There are some pretty nasty characters out there.
Please be careful and talk to your parents about this.

Oh people! Everyone who's an adult and talks to minors is NOT a pedafile! What's the world come to? I am on a network that deals with anxiety/depression. Some of the community members are minors. We all share our stories, difficulties, and give one another hope. This is a community that deals with bipolar disorder, diabetes, AIDS, menopause, etc. It's called Daily Strength. There's always been perverts and preditors out there, but they are finally being exposed. Thank God. But when someone tells me I'm wrong for sharing thoughts and concerns to a minor who has AIDS or is suicidal, your'e way off base!

it depends on what they are talking about. if the 41 year old is the 15 year olds father or uncle then its fine.
and its also wrong for the 15 year old to be talking to a 41 yr old if its inappropriate.

The general public speaks to children on Yahoo Answers.
We do not know how old people are.
It is OK for children to talk to adults. Most adults are not predators. If this 15 year old is weak or susceptible to a possible bad influence then their parent should closely monitor their Internet use.

It's fine with me.
I'm 15 and I chat with all types of people all the time.
I don't see why not, we're 15. Practically
almost adults. I mean, we understand the world
a little better and it's not like we have any secrets kept by now.
I think it's completely fine. You just gotta be careful to not give out too much information. Honestly, even if this sounds bad, it seems perfectly harmless to be chatting with someone over age. And chatting with anyone too.
G'luck and be careful!

It's sad that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in this stupid sex offender witch hunt. I mean, I just heard a 16-year-old being told her eighteen-year-old boyfriend was a pedophile. Jesus christ, it's NORMAL, even at 16 and 20 it's normal, girls like older guys.
And depending on what they talk about, why is it wrong? I go on many forum sites and talk to people 25+. Just because I talk to them doesn't mean im sexually involved with them. It's just, someone to talk to. There are things that I would get torment or beaten by my father if I asked him. So why not just find another man who isn't going to do it?

In Japan, I think you should stop it, right away. A junior high school girl was getting in touch with a twenty-year-old man on her blog and he asked her out miles away from her house and took her and lived with her for two weeks. Nothing happened to her afterall, but he could have touched her in a sexual way to eventually kill. That happens about five times a year in Japan. If he asks you out to meet, never say "yes". Or are you talking with a woman? In any case, never meet them real! if the person is who you had never met. The person you thought is woman could be man after all.
