I like his #'s.
212 hits, 29 homers, 81 RBIs, 125 Runs, .332 BA, 51 Steals. OPS+ was 147. Nice for a SS position. he actually tied with Chase Utley for that total as well, good company.
A bit surprisingly, Rollins even though he had more opportunities, his OPS+ was only 120
The best team of OPS players would be (for 2007)
1B Carlos Pena
2B Chase Utley
SS Hanley Ramirez
3B Alex Rodriguez
DH David Ortiz
OF Maggio Ordonez
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Matt Holiday
C Jorge Posada

Probably. But people won't get off the Reyes bandwagon because they seem to think that because Reyes stole 27 more bases than Ramirez that it makes him a better player, even though Ramirez:
1) Had a batting average 52 points higher! (.332 vs .280)
2) Had 17 more home runs (29 vs 12)
3) Had 24 more RBI's (81 vs 57)
Ramirez is hands down a better player right now.

I have been banging this drum all year long, he played like a true 5 tool player all year, his second in the majors! He played a good SS in the field, he hit for average, power and rbi and then he stole a lot of bases though not as many as Reyes by a long shot. Rollins gets more play for MVP (and is from one of my favorite teams) but Rameriz is the guy to watch in this league right now, it is a shame that he is stuck where no one will watch him play!
Final stats say that he is probably not though. I am willing to bet that you could make a great arguement that Reyes, Rollins or Towolski are better SS than Hanley but to me he is the guy to watch going forward, he does things that no one else has done for quite some time!

Absolutely! The others hit it right on the head when they pointed out his OPS+, which is the easiest way to quickly identify the offensive contribution of a player. And to think he plays in Florida. How much better could he be with a lineup like some of the big name teams have driving him in all the time?

As much as it pains me to pick a Phillie I'm gonna have to go with Jimmy Rollins in 2007.
