I think they have no choice to select while they are working, especailly in the night time only donuts shop open 24 hours. They just want something that they can eat right away. If they have time I think all of the cops want to sit and eat in the restaurant than eat donuts. May the Lords bless the cops!

It's an old stigma from days gone by. it used to be that cops working the night shift only had donut shops to go to for food, as nobody used to be open all night long. Nowadays, most fast food chains and mini markets are open until late, if not 24 hours. So, it's not that cops like donuts, it's just that there's an old image left over from the 50's and 60's. By the way, some donut shops aren't helping by offering discounts to cops. Walk into a donut shop wearing a pro-police t-shirt and see what kind of discount you get offered. It's funny!

Do you like donuts? Cops are no different. The cop and donut thing is an urban myth.It just gives the public something to harass the police about.

Put yourself in the cop's shoes. You're on patrol, alone, on a long, cold night. You're tired because your sleep patterns are disrupted - work at night, sleep during the day, remember? It's a boring job sometimes, and a hot cup of coffee would sure help. Not many places are open all night long, so you patronize the ones that are. And if buying a little bit of pastry helps keep them open, you don't mind doing your part.

They are fast, not too messy and you can get a donut almost any time of day or night.

the owner of the donut shops give cops free donuts.So that they will hang around so they won't get robbed.

its fast food because you never know when your going on a call so you don't have time to sit down and eat a real meal anddddddddd they love it haha
