I have just brought a pumpkin for halloween (not to eat to just make into a face) but halloween isn't for nearly 2 weeks so was wondering where is the best place to store it to keep it fresh, its to big for the fridge so should I put it in a dark cupboard or doesn't it matter, do they stay fresh for quite some time? Thanks in advance

A dry, cool place. We've been storing one since March this year. LOL, no joke. The growing season here in Australia is reversed, so there's never any carving pumpkins for sale. We first kept it in the garage, but I now have it in the bathroom as it remains fairly cool in there.

Mine has lasted this long with these conditions, so yours should make it at least two weeks. Have fun carving!

A cool place will keep it from rotting. Dont carve it until the last minute. Make sure that you watch the part that sits on the ground. That's where rot starts.

Put it out side in a place where it is out of sight....and covered. That should keep it just fine.

i would put it in a pantry if you have one, of somewhere outside protected from frost, should we have one. i think it would survive one, but with our weather?
