The Indians have shown everyone watching the ALCS that they are a team with a huge momentum edge. The starting pitching is feeding off of that momentum. So are the bats, in spots. All of this momentum goes back to the 7-11th back at Fenway in Game 2. Sabathia has to have a very good 1st and 2nd inning to whip that Cleveland crowd into the frenzy they've been in the past two games. Which I can safely say have played as big a role in helping their team win as the team on the field. A great group of fans the Indians have at their park.
Tonight's game could represent another momentum shift. This time to the Red Sox. All of this depends on many things one of which is the bats of the Red Sox. Particularly the leadoff man and the 9th spot, Julio Lugo. Pedroia needs to make Sabathia throw strikes. He can't worry about making a pressure filled hit. He just has to be patient at the plate and take the balls and take good cuts at pitches in the strike zone. Lugo, with his speed, needs to get on base to put pressure on both the pitcher and catcher to keep him close on first. The heart of Boston's lineup has been producing all of the offense. If Boston hopes to win this one and take it back to Fenway to keep this ALCS going, the 1, 8, and 9 spots in the lineup need to contribute. Francona will be pulling out all stops tonight to take this game back to Fenway.
Then again, this could become another pitchers duel with the top two pitchers in the AL facing off. I think you have to give Beckett the edge considering his experience in big-game situations and the results he's gotten in those situations. It could be a let-down type of night for him but I wouldn't bet on it. The Red Sox have already proven they can touch Sabathia.
And something off topic regarding Manny's homerun: Anyone ever give any thought that he might have been trying to fire his team up? Just something to think about.
Edit: Oh, MY!!!! The Oracle from Westmont calls it like it IS! Go BOSOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO TRIBE!!!! I love Cleveland for their sports. Not a fan of living near it. Lots of crime, but come on Indians. Its about time they get some credit! Look at the team this year! Lofton, Sizemore, Guiterrez (sp..sorry)....the list goes on!!!!!!! I think they will win the world series. Sadly this is the first season I have NOT been to a game. I have been too busy, so maybe I have been the bad luck keeping them from getting this far! The Sox got nothing! They are good and hanging in there, but thats all the can do.

Its all going to come down to PITCHING!!!! If the Tribe can get to Beckett early getting a few runs (7) working up his pitch count and getting into the bullpen (5 inning) then they have a shot at clinching it tonight.......Boston needs to wake up the BATS they have been silent with the exception of the back to back to back homeruns but that was the only runs scored....Again same for the Red Sox if they get to CC early score some runs work up the pitch count and get to the Tribes bullpen they will have an advantage...

Absolutely. Don't believe the national media. The Indians have displayed nothing less than shear dominance over the Yankees and the Sox and their absurdly high payrolls. A better question is if the Sox can manage to look like a professional baseball team in the ALCS while they lose.

I don't know who conducted the survey but it is very lopsided because if Indians are termed as the people who drink the least, the people who carried out the survey were either drunk or were guilty of dereliction of duty. They obviously missed out our hooch drinkers and those who drink backyard brewed booze loaded for bear and with methylated spirit.Man,we should have rightfully been put on top of the list and not at the bottom when our tipplers are "Bottoms-Up-Specialists". Have a Boozy Woozy Day.

If C.C. Sabathia gets his head out of his ***, our Indians will in fact represent the American League in the 2007 World Series. C.C. has given up more walks in two games than he did all of september.
The Tribe has to be patient and make Beckett throw strikes. They have to play Indians baseball.
Go Tribe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANYWAYS.... to the question, I really hope CC will come up big tonight especially after his last outing especially, so we shall see. I hope the Tribe can get a victory from the always tough Red Sox team.

CC is going to be more comfortable at the Jake. Beckett's back is still somewhat bothering him, I heard. I think that if it does not rain, the Indians will be headed to the Series after tonight.
