Peyton Manning is in his 10th season and has won a Super Bowl, an MVP for the season and a Super Bowl MVP. He holds the record for touchdowns in a season as well as quarterback rating for a season.
Tony Romo has not yet started for a full season.
Can he reach that level? Maybe.
Is this point in Romo's career comparable to the same point in Manning's? Absolutely. In Manning's first year, he threw 28 interceptions and the Colts went 3-13.
Romo has a chance to be great. Once he gets rid of the stone-handed T.O., he should get better exponentialy.

Tony Romo has the talent and skill. What he now needs is time to gain maturity and humility. If he can utilize the same work ethic over the next few years as Peyton does (during the off season as well), there should be no reason why he shouldn't be at the same "level" as Peyton.
By the way, winning the Super Bowl does not make a great quarterback. (Peyton has also been quoted as saying the same thing). Dan Marino is arguably one the great quarterbacks and he never won a Super Bowl.

ummm....you see, the reason he HASN't...is BECAUSE of the interceptions. How many does Manning throw? How about Brady? (hint....Brady has 21 TDs w/ only 2 picks this yr).
Romo has the potential to be a great QB...but until he can become CONSISTENT, he will always be a tier below the top ones. Right now as pure passing goes, he just doesn't have the experience to prove his mettle. What he does seem to have is real good leadership, which means I think he will someday be compared to QBs like Favre, and Brady.....trhough I really don't know if he will ever be one of the all time top 10....something that the other three most assuredly will be.
*Cheersoc.....you are correct...Manning did say that winning a SB didnt make a great QB,..............before he finally one one. Haven't heard him talk about it since ( Could it be that he downplayed the importance.......cause at the time he didn't measure up?)

Ummm....No. I do not know what you are on but Romo has to play at his current level (minus the INT's like you said) for about the next 6 years. Then, and only then, can he be considered in the sam category. Peyton is in an elite group of QB's. You need to have years of achieving at a high level. Romo (goin back to last year) doesnt even have a full season under his belt.

I don't know what's funnier, that you believe this or that you had the stones to post it on the Internet.
NO, Romo's not on the same level as Manning or Brady or Farve. But really Manning wasn't Manning in his first two seasons starting. It takes time and experience to get to where the top QB's are, Romo isn't there yet. He has the potential to be there, but he isn't now, and it's possible he won't ever be there. If he continues to show steady improvement, he might get there. But if he peaks this season or next, he won't. Ask this question again in 2 to 3 years.

Please....please....please tell me you were under the influence of mood altering chemicals when you ask this question. Keep in mind, I like Tony Romo a lot. He is NOT, however, even in the same class as Manning. Maybe someday....not now.

ROMO Hasn't even played a full season in his career yet, and there is no way he's anywhere near Peyton, no way!!!! He's good, but he's still learning, and he's been looking bad the last two weeks....

He's no where close. This is Romo first season starting and your already comparing him to Peyton. He plays to erratic and he isn't going to get the Cowboys into the Super Bowl. If anything he is going to make another bonehead play like he did last year with the field goal attempt.
