see if there is any post in the mail and then check my e-mails then sit down for a while then make a cup of tea and unwind the rest of the day until supper is to be prepared at 5pm

The first thing I do is lock the door, then empty my pockets on the TV stand (wallet, keys, cigarettes, lighter, and cell phone). Maybe after that I'll pet my cats and sit on the bed for a minute.

Take off my shoes, have a go at the kids for leaving their school bags and jackets on the floor in the hallway again and put the kettle on.

Take off my shoes in the porch and when I get in the first thing I do is check the answer-phone for messages.

I make sure everyone takes their shoes off before coming into the house...we live in the country and it can get muddy
