Does she drink everyday?
Does she drink in the morning?
Has she ever caused any trouble at work or home because of her drinking habit?
Does she remember everything what she does while she is drinking?
If someone asks her to stop drinking when she is drinking, can she stop?

Above questions I've learned before can be the check points to see if someone is an alcoholic.
I'm so sorry to hear that but there is not much you can do for her, unless she wants to help and start taking care of herself.

Google the phrase "How do I know if I'm an alcoholic"
You will find a list of questions such as "Do you have a drink in the morning"? "Do you drink alone?", "Do you drink secretly?" etc etc.
If your Mum is alcoholic then there are support groups for people like yourself. The worst thing though is trying to convince your Mum. That's something she needs to discover and treat herself.

does she hide her alcohol from you? does she admit that she likes to drink? i know this is not what you want to hear but, she is the only one that can help herself. you can tell her as much as you want to go to the doctors or to go and get help but she will never do it unless she wants to. by all means sit down with her and tell her how her drinking makes you feel and what she is doing to herself.
my dad has been an alcoholic for nearly 15 years, he has been in and out of hospital for the past two years because of it. me and my sister and my mum told him and told him but in the end, its only him who can help himself. thank god he has stopped drinking now, hes on his second month. i hope this helps

You can't force her to quit until she's sunk low enough that she's ready ... or arrested. But you can get help for yourself in dealing with the situation. Find a local Al-Anon group for counseling and support for and by others in your situation.

hi, i really pity u... i think ur mom herself should accept that fact she is an alcohol addict, only after her courageous conduct u can move on with helping her, otherwise it is waste of ur time & nerves...i wish u great patience, good luck & health to ur mom.

It is not your place to save your mother. It is her choice, unless she is harming your life by drinking.
