If I have to hear this 2004 garbage again.....
This is not 2004. This is not the 2004 team. Boston is not playing the 2004 Yankees.
The 2007 Red Sox are not untouchable. They now have 2 less wins than Cleveland this year!
Everyone keeps talking about Beckett. Well, his competition tonight is a fellow Cy Young candidate. I put my money on C.C. at home.
Goodbye Boston. Enjoy your one world title in this century. Come to the realization that you are now known as a playoff flop.

It will be tough to climb out of this 3-1 hole against a good team like Cleveland, but it is possible. I still have faith!
If they can come back though, it won't have anything to do with 2004. That was a mostly different Red Sox team, and of course now their opponent is a completely different team.
If the Tigers were in this situation, would you give up on them?

it just shows the majority of indian fans (or at least the vocal and arrogant ones) are just bandwagon fans. Only cheer for a team if they win, act like they don't exist if they lose. Makes me wonder why the Jake was so empty early this year and the past few years. As soon as they start winning, jump on the wagon and starting talking as much smack as you can! If that is what you call a true fan, get a reality check tough guy.

2004 was THE biggest choke job in professional sports history. There's no possible way Cleveland can lose three in a row against a team who's hitting under .260 in the ALCS.

Seriously Georgie, I'm holding out hope because Boston is the team I root for.Their the team I cry over, scream about, and watch.I'm a fan until the nails on my coffin are nailed in.
I think this question is ignorant.
If it was the other way around, would you be asking the same about Cleveland??
I can't wait until you can change your avatar, you act just like all the cocky, ignorant Cleveland fans, and your not even a Indians fan.
And 2004 was NOT a fluke.Boston worked there asses off to win that year.
It's sad you would even say such a thing.

The Sox have come back from 2 games down more than once before....................... winning 8 straight games in the playoffs is never a fluke, but whether you think so or not, when was the last time the Indians were Champions? I think the answer is 1948....................... so who's been choking for 60 years????

Real fans (no matter what team they are cheering for) always believe in their team until the end. It isn't over til its over. Are you telling me if the situation is reversed and it was the Indians that were down 3-1, you wouldn't be cheering your team to be making a comeback? Pretty much what you are saying is you would want the team to just be resigned to losing and not even try.

The only hope Boston is hanging on to is memories of the 0-3 situation against the Yankees in 2004. The thing with Boston is that there is an arrogance about the team that you don't see with other teams. It's the same arrogance I saw in the 1986 Mets. That Hollywood stardom arrogance, that "Look at me!" arrogance.
We saw a touch of it the other night when Manny the moron came to the plate with his team 5 runs down and hits a solo home run. Throws his hands up in victory then takes 15 minutes to circle the bases.
Let's hope Cleveland puts that play in their memory bank and pays Manny back with interest!
