Let me explain. Indian captains have an heritage that whenever they become a captain their individual perfomance falls down down down(Just consider the fromer captains- Azhar ,Sachin, Ganguly and finally Dravid). But after they leave the captaincy they were improving. So making Dhoni, a captain, is making him play worse.
Thus we have to do any one from the three
1. Select a player as captain who can maintain his perfomance even when he is a captain
2. Select a player as Captain whom the team has to bear even if he is not in form for many matches before(Sachin & Ganguly)
3. Let the selection process remains the same for the captaincy as it is now. We have to learn a lot.
According to my opinion Dhoni is a very Aggressive player. He can play some extraordinary shots than anyone else. So dont give him a load(captaincy) because to play very aggressive he must be cool and calm & not a man in pressure .

Yes, definitely. He is the first cricketer to win a World Cup in his first assignment as captain and that is no mean achievement. With time and experience, he will become the next best captain of India after Sourav Ganguly. He has all the qualities in him to be a great and successful captain.
