Irish-American neighborhoods/areas in San Francisco?

Irish-American neighborhoods/areas in San Francisco?

I've heard that there are a few neighborhoods in San Francisco that are populated mostly by the Irish (actually from Ireland). My friend just moved here from Ireland and wants to start out in that kind of area to get situated. Anyone know where she can look?

Start at the Irish pubs. There are quite a few that my Irish friends go to. As far as "Irish neighborhoods", I'm not aware of any. There are a lot of Irish nationals in the bay area and you should be able to hook up with them with a little luck. I would suggest the "Starry Plow" in Berkeley.
