Any democratic system faces many problems. One is the balance of what the country needs with what will keep me in power. Unfortunately most governments do things that will keep them in power, even if not good for the country.
Yes, poverty is a problem that must be solved. The problem is it requires spending money by the government. This leads to higher taxes or government borrowing. Both are inflationary and reduce confidence in the government.

In my opinion the largest problem will be voter confidence ! As for poverty the outsourcing must be stopped . America need to tax goods brought into the country like other country . If we are to have a true " Global economy " All country's must have a level playing field . This would in theory reduce poverty world wide . This issue is to complex for this forum . I hope my opinion will give some direction to your research. Good luck
