I just bought Myst 10th anniversary edition and have started the Myst Masterpiece edition. I'm running window vista ultimate on my Toshiba satellite x205-s9359 with core 2 dui processor t7300, nvidia geforce 8700mt. I don't think it's optimal, but I haven't crashed it yet. I haven't played myst or riven ( I don't think I ever finished Riven) since the mid-nineties. I expected the graphics to be better, but I think that in the early nineties it was state of the art.

Civ 4 will be fine, as will the latter three myst games. The masterpiece edition of the original ought to go. Riven has troubles even under XP, so a vista solution is unlikely.

They possibly could if u use the compatibility mode or Windows Virtual PC which u can download for free from windows marketplace . It is a sort of PC within a PC and enables u to run a previous operating system under Vista or another OS.

Open the game folder in question look for the file setup right click it go to properties then from there select compatibility mode and run it for an older version of windows

I play civ 4 without a problem. In case you want to play DOS games. Download and install DOSBox, it works perfectly fine for me. I am using Vista.

I have seen people trick the DOS part of the computer into loading up old games but it doe,s not always work in windows mode sort of hit or miss deal
