I agree, it is a personal choice. If he were to live, he would have to put up with a continual worsening of suffering. Some people do continue on in such conditions, they may be homeless and suffering, but alive and alone with no home. Does anyone REALLY care about them in that lowly state? I don't think so. Nobody cares much about the "dirty" street people. Self-righteous people who pretend they do should get off their soap box. So it is a personal choice.

I would like to know if you are speaking of someone else or if you are referring to yourself. As your command of English is limited (no insult intended) I am probably missing subtle nuances of your statement.
No one can tell a person that their decision is unreasonable. Only the person suffering has the right and the obligation to make such a decision.
The person should ask themselves not whether they should kill themselves, but rather should ask what is it that they can do to change the situation and make it into a state that they can live with. If the alternative is suicide, then virtually anything that doesn't endanger others is reasonable.
Once life is gone, it cannot be recalled. On the other hand, if a person is forced into a kind of life that to them is not life as they choose to live it, then anything that would alter that situation is morally acceptable.
Here's an example: If a person is in such pain that they absolutely choose not to life in that state, then, literally, anything is an improvement. If pain medication is the only answer, then it is reasonable for them to take as much medication as is necessary to stop the suffering; and if they die in the process, that is not immoral.
In other words, there is a very real difference between dying at your own hands by a deliberate act to destroy yourself, on the one hand, and doing anything in an attempt to remove the unacceptable life and dying in the process, on the other.

Well I am assuming this person isn't you ( as you are on the computor- so can walk and must have some money). From what I read- the given story you say is true but I am not sure if it is specifically pertaining to anyone you know but to a given situation of a given poor person in your city. I am assuming it is someone you know from the quote you gave above.
For you to agree that suicide is the option for that given person, is morally wrong even if the doctor told them they have only a few days to live ( if that what I read correctly). Instead you should help him enjoy the rest of his days the best he can rather than encourage such a negative act. And he should go back to that doctor and ask for help. The doctor should be able to refer him to someone who can help him with further treatment.

I totally understand were you are coming form because this guy has no quality of life any more, Its like everyone always says 'you woulnt leave an animal in this amount of suffering'
If this person is religous then there is the aspect of all suicides go straight to Hell.
Suicide is mans way of telling God " You can't fire me , I QUIT" But its not quiting if there is nothing left to quit on.
This is the only thing left for this man to control in his life. If he wishes to do this he may need to leave evidence of some sort that these are his wishes and he did this freely.
I know it sounds strange to leave evidence but there are alot of cases that loved ones then get charged for not doing anything about it or for helping with their wish.
Its a cruell world but there is a silver lining - He will be happy making his last own choice.
Feel better Flic xx

I think you didnt get meaning of life. If you think about life more positively you can undersand my views. I agree that person dont have good things on his way, but he can make that way more easy for others. Person can think that nobody is there to suffer this all so god choose him. hence person is a special one & quite strong. Though the person is not physically strong he must buld up his mind more healthy & more strong. Believe me sucide is a decisions od coward people who are threatning by themselves. e confident & see you will get more hapiness in that short time span. Wish you all the best.

No, I donot think so that suicide is the best answer for a livelihood problem. I donot agree on your premise.
Your example here that a dying person who is so poor that he has a terminated illness and could die any day or months now, should think of killing himself when in fact he has a few days to live for? WHY KILL YOURSELF in the first place when you already dying. I donot see any logic on this.
People like to LIVE than to die. This is a universal theory that is consistent. For example you are fishing in a boat, suddenly the boat cupsided and you are thrown overboard, naturally you will struggle to get to the boat or grab something to make yourself afloat isn't it? You want to STAY ALIVE. Also in the studies of suicide attempt, once the victim tried to kill himself or herself, suddenly in the back of her mind he/she wants to get to the hospital or ask for HELP. Why because we DONOT LIKE TO DIE unnaturally, you heared about the theory of FOREVER YOUNG, if possible we want to LIVE FOREVER.
Your idea is not gonna sell. Because people can still used their brain power and logical sense when it comes to this kind of problems. That is why we have brain in the first place.

Suicide is never the option. Maybe the man in your example can find a home, or there is a vaccine for what he has to let heal him, many people live everyday taht are blind. I amnot saying people dont go through hard times, but suicide is never ever the answer.

Renu, Life does not mean death and death is not the solution for anything. Besides everyone's life span is decided. We do not have rights to end ourself or decide whether to live or not, but we shld try to end the problem. Just give me an simple answer...what if the person tries to suicide does not die and his condition becomes even hopeless.
Everyone does not get everything that he wants. So one shld learn to live best with what ever he has.
Zindagi jeene ka naam hai...so live it to its fullest. Successful is the person who leads a life with what so ever he has to face - you can say life is adventurous and face.
V shld consider ourself as very important person in our family if not in society....live for your family who loves you. Think positive you will get guidelines to practice positively.
Life is precious. Handle it with care. You will understand its beauty.

... but what if he just felt hopeless? No one to really love him and care for him, wouldn't miss him if he was to end his life. Just extremely in a depressive state 24/7. Can you truley see where this man is coming from? I personally have been dealing with depression for a good couple years and also thought of ending my life to make "MY" problems go away, but the more i thought about it.. what problems will occur on my family once i pull the trigger?

Suicide is not a good decision especially if the person knows that he/she is any way going to die in a few more days. One should finish one's karma in this plane and go. Suicide cuts that process and adds to the bad karma of that person. Next time (in the next life) it will be more difficult.
