The correct size should be on the door on a sticker or some where in that area.

As long as the proper backspace is used wheel diameter doesn't mean a whole lot. Tire circumference IS the most important if your interested in keeping some integrity in your speedometer calibration.
To get an idea what this all means go to: tirerack.com and open up any brand of tire. Click on spec. under the picture of the tire. At the far right you will notice the heading: RPM. In tire language this means - revolutions per mile. Check the rpm of the tire that came on your car. As you scan the list it is possible to go to larger wheel diameters but you'll need to sacrafice aspect ratio for clearance and rpm. Generally speaking if a tire rolls 20 less rpm than (larger circumferance tire) it'l only drop your speedometer about a mile an hour.
