Yes, if you use your ISP mail account (POP3 one) A little progamme called MSGTAG will send you a mail when they open it - and they can't stop it sending it either!!

You can request a Read Receipt in Outlook, but then the person can decide not to allow one to be sent, also if they read the mail in a preview pane there's no need to open it so a Read Receipt wouldn't be sent. If you get a Read Receipt you know the mail has been opened, if you don't get a read Receipt you don't know if it has been read or not.

I only know for sure that if you send a card from 123greetings that you get a message when the recipient opens the card.Otherwise I never know if someone opens my regular mails.I have to wait until it´s answered.

Yes, for most Email Accounts it is. Just go to Sent, and the email you sent should have a status next to it i.e 'Read', 'Replied', 'Unopened'.
