My friend is an accomplished dancer, working for major television shows and theatrical appearances. He injured his foot at some point and is unable to dance now. How can he receive benefits?

I believe your friend has to be out of work for at least a year. Document everything especially medical treatments. Contact the Social Security Administration. Be patient because this will take several months to accomplish after filing.

Its depends on the type of benefit if your referring to disability living allowance then yes if he fits what the criteria is regarding this then he can claim regardless of work or what work he did, my son is 9 and also gets this because of his disability, any other benefit like incapacity requires you to have earned national insurance credits to get

The only way your friend can recieve disability is by a doctor stating this person is disabled. I doubt with this kind of injury any doctor would recommend disability. Expecially since they are able to perform odd jobs.

You can apply for disability benefits IF your previous jobs paid into ( had a deduction for ) SDI .
The benefit amount will be related to the amount contributed by his employers .

if you hold a job at under 500 bucks a month...wait might be higher now...but you can draw your disability too.

oh sorry ..read the bottom he has to basically prove he cant work at any job.... and i mean prove!!!
