hi,im 8 1/2 weeks pregnant, i watched it last night up until the 24 week old baby and it made me feel sick!!!!
It felt like i had witnessed a murder, which it is really!!!!!!
I personally wouldnt have an abortion unless the baby had major problems! I have always felt this way!
My partner was discusted by it, he said he never thought abortion was that sick!
Glad i saw the reality but cant get pictures out my head!

Thank you for bringing it up, i was watching it last night and so was my sister, so we had a good old rant on the phone to each other.
It made me cry too and with my fiance at work i was all alone, i'm 24 weeks and seeing that was so sickening i was distraught. I'm not a fan of abortion, but i dont condone it for the right reasons... some women who have been raped and concieved or else if the pregnancy would have a detrimental effect on the health of the mother resulting in possibly death. I however do not agree with abortion being used as another form of contreception which is all too common in youngsters.
Its disgusting at the fact that if i gave birth now there is a 50% chance My little girl would live yet elsewhere in the hospital could be another women aborting the same aged child. I disagree that scientific evidence which is 10 YEARS OLD is still being used to judge the time limit on abortions. And also the fact that they are basically calling an unborn child an adult - considering the pain tests they did were on adults, hence why they decided that the pain section of the brain was at the top and in a fetus- not yet formed.
Children feel pain that adults dont, so the same must ring true for unborn babies. If my Ria can feel me poking her and responds to light and sound in my womb then surely she feels pain?!
I'm sorry i have just had a rant but it has had me riled all day. I totally agree with the asian doctor who is trying to get the time lowered or at least pain relieve administered for fetus' before they are aborted.... which in my opinion at 24 weeks is just murder!

Personally I think that aborting a child at any stage of pregnancy or for any reason, apart from if the pregnancy or birth would kill the mother, is completely wrong. Even in that case, you would think there would be a more humane way to do it by now than just crushing them. I think it's ridiculous that euthanasia is illegal, but a baby is allowed to be killed by a doctor. If the baby had been born at 24 weeks and was then killed, it would be classed as infanticide and the person would be accountable in law - why should the baby being inside the womb instead of outside make a difference? If someone has an unwanted pregnancy, they should take responsibility for their actions and have the baby, not kill it for their own convenience. The baby can then be adopted and go on to have a happy life. Even in the awful circumstances that a woman came to be pregnant as a result of rape, why make this already awful crime worse by committing a murder as well? Yes, it would be traumatic for the woman but I also think that they should take 9 months out of their lives to have the baby. Fair enough, they may find it too hard to love the child themselves but so many others could. I just can't understand how people can do it, it's the one issue I can't see both sides of at all.

I saw it and think there are several circumstances when abortion is appropriate
1. possible harm/ death of the mother
2. if the mother has been raped
3. if the baby will have severe disabilities or diseases
However if it is just because a woman does not want a baby i am against it. There are many options before you even get pregnant, the pill, a condom, the coil etc. etc. and then even if you think they may have not worked properly for whatever reason there is the morning after pill. once you are pregnant i think a decision should be made prior to 12 weeks unless the afore mentioned reasons are an issue.

I have just watched the programme via cable and OMG i had to pick up my 8 week old son and cuddle him.
I did not find out i was pregnant until i was 26 weeks - long story - i had been ill!! -
I never would have considered an abortion at any stage - i see it as i have created the situation so seal with it - 'that's life'. That though is just my opinion and people need to do what is best for them. Though if you had seen this programme you could never consider a late abortion. If you are going to watch this i recommend you have someone with you - it will make you cry!!

Yes, I saw it and I remain very much pro choice.
However, 24 weeks is verging on murder - as they do survive if born at that stage, so technically they are little people. They should, in my opinion, lower the limit to 20 weeks. Pregnancy tests detect so early these days, so I don't think 20 weeks is unreasonable.
I would not cast aspersions on anyone taking this route, it is legal, it's a harder decision to make than to actually have the baby, in some circumstances. It is unfair to pass negative judgement.

Yes I saw it and I cried so much! I think the limit should be reduced to 12 weeks, as this is when most women go for their scans and see their babies bouncing around!
I remember my pregnancy and no way would I abort at 24 weeks! I could feel my baby kicking at 16 weeks!

Yes I did, I am 16 weeks pregnant and my partner has left because of this and wants me to have a abortion, I did think about having a abortion but after watching that , their is no way, I did ask my partner to watch it so I am hoping he did, but I have taped it anyway! I do believe women should have the choice and would never judge some one even after watching that but I do think the law should be dropped down to around 16 weeks, I am glad they showed that program, people need to be shocked and realise the full impact of their choices.

I know it's horrible, i could never do it myself unless there was a seriouse problem and even then i dont think i could do it. It is really sad!!
I think women should only be able to abort in the first trimester cause after that the baby could have a chance to live as it is classed as Viable

It was used simply to add weight to the anti choice campaign. What a shame, I expected more impartiality from Channel 4.
