I have heard it said that being on stage, performing anything - poetry, music, dance - in front of a crowd makes one feel more alive than anything else. Charged, energetic, and full of life. I've tried it, and mostly what I felt was nervous or sometimes defiant.
If reading poems in a group setting, maybe in an unusual location in the middle of the night, stirs your blood, then you should do it. You may even find that the very act of organizing the reading--contacting the people, finding a location--is stimulating and exciting. Truly, it seems to me as if what you need most is something different to do, something that will challenge you to feel and think in ways you haven't yet done. So start there, and see where it takes you.
My personal answer is not very exciting. Maybe I'm just a quieter soul. But earlier this summer I got a puppy, and I've been spending as much time as I can with her. And the experience has been incredible: watching this little life grow, helping it along, teaching it what's good and what's bad--in short, taking responsibility for something outside myself--has made me think hard about my values and my choices. Every new day with her gives me something to laugh about, write about, and think about.
I hope you find what you are looking for. :)

I play the electric guitar. I am quite good at it, and fairly creative.
So when I do need to feel alive, I go downstairs, plug my Fender Telecaster into a sound shaping unit and into my amplifier, and I start to make as many different soundscapes as I can... celtic lilts, big echoey phrases, and damp, reverberating blues licks.
I can while away hours with my guitar, if I want too. And I feel like an eagle flying when I'm doing it, soaring out over the cliffs.

I'm an adrenaline junkie. I either spend some 'quality time' on a combat pistol range with a couple of my favorite 'therapists' (a Para-Ordnance P.45-14 and a Sig-Sauer P-228), or I try to pull the wings off of some high-performance aerobatic aircraft, or I get in a bit of free-fall air-time with a few other crazies ☺

Each and every one in the world has their own thing that makes them feel ALIVE...I for one enjoy sports. My sister feels much more alive when she's singing or playing around with her friends at her singing club, and I guess my mother feels much alive when she's reading her books
A friend of mine feels that, when he's playing online computer games. Another when he can be lazy around the house...
Well, whichever it is...that's what I know of...
Hope that helps,
Best of luck,
