Nothing wrong with being for gay marriage, though a better argument can be made for civil unions. Even some conservative theologians are beginning to come around on the issue of civil unions.

Open borders is the traditional conservative libertarian position. Most Democrats don't support open borders but many would support a more appropriate immigration policy that actually timely processed pending applications and allowed enough legal immigrants to meet the demands of businesses.

We can have a lengthy debate over how industry should be regulated for all types of pollution including global warming (I am pretty sure it was a conservative Supreme Court that recognized an obligation of the federal government to regulate global warming).

The question of taxes and handouts are a red herring. You need to name a specific program and specific taxes. I know of no Democrat who supports raising all taxes, just some that they believe are inappropriately low for sound budgetary practices. Most Democrats also have some taxes they would like to see reduced. Likewise, I know of no Democrat that supports all proposed new government programs, but everyone has particular ones that they belive are appropriate.

Finally, I know of no Democrat who wants to lose to Islamic extremist. We just happen to believe that the most likely way to guarantee that loss is to continue on the Bush Administration's misguided policy.

Of course, what is worse, is a Republican policy of misstating the Democratic position in a failed attempt to divert blame from their own failure to accomplish anything over the past six years.

I think your partisan rant would be more fairly expressed as:

1. Prepared to face military realities, and to adapt our tactics to suit the actual fight we are in.

2. Prepared to increase services, and to pay a fair price for them.

3. Want to legalize illegal immigrants so they can be protected by law from exploitation, and so they can pay their taxes.

4. Given the number of billion dollar handouts to Halliburton and other White House sponsors, this one is a bit self serving. The question is where you want to spend the tax dollars.

5. Pollution is a problem, whether it causes climate change or not. Industry have clearly proven they will not clean up without regulation, so talk to them if you are unhappy.

6. Is this really an issue? Does it matter what gay men do? Do we need to know?

Do Republicans admit they are in favour of suspending habeus corpus? That they have modified the processes of government to remove the checks and balances so important to the protection of minority rights?

How about the vindictive partisan behaviour of the White House in the Valerie Plame incident, are there any Republicans who think that was over the line? Would George W. Bush have pardoned Karl Rove and excused him from testifying if there were not things that needed to be hidden?

Then there are medical research and moral issues. Are Republicans prepared to admit that they are religious fanatics who want to force their beliefs on the rest of us? Do we need to be "perfected?" Can Republicans differentiate between their religious conservatism and Iran's?

NOTHING CAN BE WORSE THAN MORE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS! FREE THE AMERICANS!

Uh, none of the above - - - a majority of 'Democrats' are too scared to argue for 'gay marriage' and push for 'Civil Unions' as do Republicans..... Neither party goes for open borders and both parties love raising taxes and will gladly regulate industries on the pretext of global warming in order to wring bribes & kick backs from them.... And neither party wants to lose to Islamic Extremist, both would love to see Christian Zealots take charge of Earth and perhaps both would tolerate the non believers as long as they pose no threat to Christian Values......

Peace......................... {-------O . . O ----------}....................o
