How long does it take to get to California from Australia by boat? Im talking about boats used by military.?

My boyfriend is on his way back from Iraq by boat and is in Australia right now. He cant say exactly when he returns because of security reasons so id like to know if anyone knows how long the distance is in months or weeks to get to California from Australia. Please get back to me!

To san diego about 3-5 days? if going to Seattle area add another 11/2 days to it...
