I was in that situation w/my son...we never pulled the plug, he died 3 yrs. ago. it's such a personal decision...in our case, we could not donate any of his organs due to the many medications he'd been on.
A coma does not mean "brain dead." you can not ethically "pull the plug" unless there is NO brain activity.
My son had very little but he was never brain dead. He died eventually from sepsis, infection thru out his body.
He's in Heaven. I can't wait to see him again. ♥

I'm married. Therefore, I already exist in a vegetative state, so if I end up in a coma I really don't care if my family pulls the plug or not. no biggie either way. If they did pull the plug, it would be a lot less expensive for them than it would be to keep me alive.

i would do it. if the person has no chance of coming out of a coma, and all they would do is sit there and waste away their organs that could be of use for someone else, it's the smartest thing. then, you would be helping someone else and the relative or friend because they wouldn't have had a meaningless rest of their life.
we had to do it for my grandpa, and it's not like i respect him any less or regret it in any way. i think he would have wanted to have been let go if there was nothing else they could do for him.

Without a doubt. What a gift of life for someone else. I would not want to "live" in a coma or put my family through that. I am all for organ\tissue\blood donations.

you cant decide to pull the plug based on the need of the organs. that would be akin to murder.
even if it were legal, it would be morally wrong. the decision to pull the plug should ONLY be made in the best interest of the patient. i personally have a do not resuscitate order on file with my dr. i am young and healthy but that way, the decision was mine and whoever pulls the plug can do it without guilt.

Yes...I don't believe in life support at all. I am a Do Not Resuscitate because if I have no brain activity and a heart beat I don't think that constitutes as being alive, but if it was only a medically induced coma then yea I guess I'd be alright with that.

I would even if I weren't donating their organs. If they are never coming out of the coma, they aren't really living.

Honestly no. I'd still pray for a miracle...for both my relative, and the other person in need.
would this be considered selfish ?
oh well, I'll still pray for my relative to come back

Yes, mostly because I wouldn't want to be kept "alive" if I was in that shape.
