Is it a kind of leash, since anybody can find you anytime, anywhere, asking anything??

Do you keep it open all day long?

I do not own one for that reason. I find them very annoying and after working for a cellphone company years ago swore I would never own one.

For proffesional reasons I am obliged to keep it open all day and night long just for immergency cases.
But I become mad when people call me over the cell at office hours, when they can use my office phone lines, interrupting eventually a meeting or a hearing.
I such cases I become really abrupt.
Also when I'm driving and explain the callers that they must call me later but they don't respect my position and go on with any unimportant discussion.
Have you noticed that only Greeks and Albanians spend the whole of their day with the cell attached on their ear? Even when driving? As if they give orders to their financial manager about the shares they want to buy or sell....Not to mention some ladies talking continusly over the cell while buying tomatos and cucambers....

Yeah that's true. I never thought about it before. I carry it with my when I am out, but when I am at home it is usually charging in the other room. I try not to let it have a lot of control over me and that's probably because I don't get lots of calls. Some people are a slave to the phone constantly on it and that is annoying too.

No, I'm not tethered. Due to caller id, I only answer calls from people I choose when I choose. I'm not one who spends much time on any phone. I generally don't take or receive calls while I'm driving although I have hands-free capability. When I'm out on the weekends, the phone stays in the car.

No, i cant say that.It depends on how we use it.To tell you the truth i always have it away from me, so i dont see always the messages, or i see....what i want, and i answer...to whom i want.
Generally, it is up to us to preserve our privacy, whatever it is, cell or home phone.
Certainly there is the option to turn it off during holidays or special moments...what about this?

I think the worse thing about cell phones is texting. You text things you normally wouldn't say and it gets you into trouble.

I'm more concerned about health though...
