Do you mean: Idleness is the root of all evil? There seem to be a lot of quotes about idleness, but this is the one that comes to my mind. The site I found says it comes from German, and there seem to be various ways of saying it. And Soren Kierkegaard says it is the "only true good." I'm more with Soren.
