I love Bass. Love heavy base lines in music. Go for the Bass.

my husband plays both!!! I love to hear him play the electric and the guitar players take center stage more (girls notice you) but there is just something about a base player and a drummer! idk play whatever you like the best! the cost depends on what you want! They start out about the same for a pretty nice cheap one about a hundred bucks
the base looks easier to play (less strings) but you have to have really good timing
