i don't think ellen is as hurt and upset about her dog getting taken back from the family. as much as she cares about the two little girls that she accidentially upsetted by giving them a loving company then having it taken away from them. so people should stop sayiong its just a dog problem blowing out of proportion. but her caring act turned out in a bad way. what do you think about this incident?

I also think she is really overwrought for these two little girls. They only had the dog for 2 weeks. I have raised 3 kids and they are not "broken hearted" over this if they just had the dog 2 weeks. Their attention span is not that focused. the ones that run that volunteer shelter have had death threats, nasty phone calls and emails. All because Ellen did not read what she signed. if you or me had done that the result would be the same. The dog was removed because the new place was not a good environment. As for caring, she took in a dog from a shelter it did not get along with her cats so she sought to "get rid of" the dog by giving it to her hairdresser. It doesnt matter if she sees the hairdresser every day. What could she possibly know about the home life of the hairdresser. I see my mailman every day he seems nice and friendly but I do not really know him or his home situation. The people at the dog agency have devoted their lives to placing dogs instead of having them euthanised and now this happens to them................

The people who own pets and truly consider them as family members can get extremely upset when they feel a wrong has been committed. I believe Ellen was truly hurt by the initial action of the group taking the dog away from kids. And probably only the "kids" aspect of it alone although the dog was an issue following not far behind. As far as the hair stylist's family not being considered "good enough"....I think that's a crock. I think they were probably perfectly good enough--they just didn't have as much MONEY as some other people have. That's all it boils down to. Money. There's no way that Ellen would let that dog go to a home and family that she didn't feel adequate in placing it in. The only harm is that company wanting to "take candy from a baby" and forgetting what their company was created to do-- to give dogs a loving and nurturing home. Yes, Ellen should've read the fine print; but look whos causing more trouble now?

Rescue agencies like all organizations can't just be "flexible" with their policies and procedures just because a celebrity is involved. Why all of a sudden does everyone thing that Ellen is qualified to place rescue animals, moreso than a Rescue Shelter!?! Sure, no one will argue that Ellen's hairdresser and family are probably wonderful people, but the rescue agency doesn't know that do they. Why did Ellen have a camera crew outside her hairdresser's home at the exact time M&M came to pick up the dog?? And you're suspicious of M&M scamming Ellen!?! Some of you are truly mislead. While Ellen was bawling on TV and discrediting a noteable pet rescue organization on national tv, her friend could have been at M&M applying to adopt Iggy legitimately, and going through the required standard adoption and screening process. Ellen took this way to far, and the puppy will be far better off going to someone else's home out of this pathetic spotlight. My opinion anyway.

I have divided feelings on this issue, one, Ellen did feel bad about the dogs being taken away from the 2 little girls & 2, the adoption place did have rules & regulations that she should abide by. If the family wanted those dogs, they should fill out the proper forms & adopt. I am sure they would get the dogs back. The threats are going too far against the owner of the adoption center & need to stop. Then in the back of my mind, I hope this isn't for publicity.

I think she is a human being and should be treated like one. Just b/c she showed real emotion all the nay sayers are being real jerks about it saying she's just acting. Well she isn't she's a human freaking being and every right to have a good cry once in a whlie. So there u nay saying jerks.
That makes me feel better to express. As for the M&M company I don't like them for the lawyer was being a naysaying snotty jerk basicaly calling Ellen a brat. So I say give the dog back don't listen to the jerk wad woman who owns the company. Plus don't send her death threats it's just stupid to do so. B/c of that I don't think the dog will ever get back to the hair dressers family. Ellen would have to get her hands dirty and hire a big time good lawyer to get Iggy back now.

You are probably right. Ellen was more upset over the fact that those little girls lost their pet than the fact that she gave them the dog knowing that she had broken an aggreement she signed. But the woman from the rescue program should have handled this with more flexibility. She made the situation worse than what it should have been.

To me, this looks and sounds like a publicity stunt. If the family wants the dog so much, why didn't they go to the shelter to talk to the people about adopting it legally? ED broke the rules; by now, she should know about reading even the fine print. I think she wanted to use her celebrity status to get around the rules, and she got called on it. So, what's keeping the people from seeing about this themselves? I think she's made a fool of herself in front of a lot of people, which isn't the first time.

I feel sorry for the people at the shelter, who have been following their own rules.

I agree that she could not possibly have known that the hairdresser's home would be a good environment. She thought that, since the dog didn't work out, it could be handed over to someone else~which it obviously couldn't.

I think she feels a grave injustice was done, she seems to be a bit of a control freak so I can understand her breakdown.
This shelter does not "own" that dog. It's ridiculous.
I remember when a dog was a dog was a mutt.
They are happy they if they get fed and some love.

I didn't realise she was such a "soft touch"! Maybe she has more Problems than we realise... -Kinda like what Owen Wilson went through, last month... It just goes to show- you NEVER can tell, about people...
