Porn destroys more lives than it helps. I used to watch it and it destroyed mine. I never saw it coming but i now see it as a destroyer!!! I asked god to help me and he did and since than my life is much better!! I wouldnt trade it for anything!! I wish the hell i never saw it!! Id rather feel the innocence of a crush than to feel jealousy, pervertedness or anger like i did!! I am glad i saw the light from what i thought porn was which was emptiness.. My prayers go out to people who are ensnared. That i hope they see the light through that darkness!! Its simply a trap!!

I have seen one Porn film, and it was disturbing. I never wanted to watch another, and have not. Disturbing images stay with you. I remember watching my first autopsy. That was 18 years ago. Glad prayer helped you. Keep warning people.

There is just too much money to be made in pornography.
On the corner of High Park Blvd. and Roncesvalles there is a store sitting on the north east corner across from the old TD bank. I walked in one day and went to the ATM and beside it was the magazine rack, a woman was asking the manager to put the porn magazines up top away from the kids. I commented that the whole lot should be thrown out. The manager asked me if I'm willing to pay for them? I said it isn't a matter of payment but morals. He disagreed, business is business. That was fifteen years ago. Nothing has changed since.

It's not eradicated because it's extremely profitable.
Some argue that it's why VCR's and the Internet became popular enough that the price on equipment dropped due to increased demand until the average consumer could afford it and provide more traditional uses for the technologies... hard to say how much truth this argument has in it, but demand does usually bring prices down.
Glad you were able to get straightened out, since it seemed to affect you to the degree that it did. The right porn in the right circumstances can be a healthy aid to a healthy relationship, but you are right that there is a lot of... extreme stuff out there.

The number one answer to this question is going to be profitability. It makes a ridiculous amount of money. Sex sells. Anyone can tell you that.
I personally don't think there is a need for it to be eradicated. It's an idiotic notion to really believe that something as minute as pornography can ruin a life. I see it appears to have ruined yours, so you say, but truthfully you can't blame the porn. You can only blame yourself for sitting around watching it constantly. It was your choice to sit in front of the computer or television and watch it. It's the same as any other "addiction." You CHOOSING to succumb to the situation. Once again, you can only blame yourself.

How do you think the "virgin" mary got knocked up? Porn should be embraced. Its just the graphic evidence of a completely normal act. Why do people seem to think its wrong? As much as some seem to deny it, we are all simply animals, and animals have primal urges and needs. It is the denying and surpressing of these needs that leads to all the problems like rape and child molestation. Sex is good, and as long as its not hurting anyone, then enjoy it! Life is too short to pretend you dont like the opposite sex!! Besides, the sex industry is one of the largest industries in the world, which proves everyone, secretly or not, likes a bit of action....
