the chain went back into the engine how bad is that? like we took it to the dirt bike shop where they fix it ?
just wondering what are the chances of it coming back alive??
will i have to get a new one i am starting mx soon and i was hoping to use that as it has been race prepped and it was reallyy expensive to do that ????
please help

sounds like its .. minimum new engine case..

depends how much more damage it did ...

more often than not, when the chain breaks (or comes off a sprocket for any reason), it will wad up in front of the countershaft sprocket... it depends on the bike, but alot of the time, the chain will clip the housing causing damage (oil leaking out, exposing some internal linkages, etc.)... this will require a case half replacement, and unless you have proper tools, will require taking to the shop for that work to be done. maybe you will be lucky, and there isn't any damage to the case half, merely a cover??? or better yet, the chain merely wadded up which can be pulled out and replaced or re-installed with a master link...

close inspection should be able to determine what level of damage was caused (if any)...

Worse case scenario, it bunched up and cracked the engine case, new case(s) needed.
Best case scenario, it bunched up and stuck, just needs to be pulled out and a new chain installed.
