This guy is in my class and also works with me outside of school. He is quite nice to me and will usually talk to me frequently. But the problem is I like him (more than a friend) and a back stabber has told him. ( i dont think he believed her).

As we're moving into grade ten shortly our classes together will mostly be none as he wants to do a trade and I a science.

He has been injured yesterday being sent to hospital. Id like to make decent friends with him before the end of the year. How do I go about this?

Please note the delicate situation.

Send him a get-well card and maybe take him a puzzle book to keep him amused while he is stuck there. Go as a friend. You would do this kind of thing for any friend, right?

As a friend you have the ability to get to know and get comfortable with each other. Better to build a relationship that way. If it leads to romance, fine. If not, you still have a friend.

A little piece of wisdom: There are FRIENDS and there are ACQUAINTANCES... even within family groups.
Acquaintances only call you when they want something... bring a present to a birthday party, or come when they call. These people are "users" at best. They typically don't care about you or anything going on in your life. You always wonder where you stand with these people until you put 2 + 2 together.
Friends are different. They are there for you, usually share common interests, offer a shoulder to cry on, cheer you on, and want the best for you.
At some point, you need to evaluate each relationship and ask, "What does this person bring to the table?" Is this person a mooch? A user? A manipulator? A drama-queen? A time-waster? Or is this person your cheering section? Provide insight? Make you laugh?
As you go down the list of traits and how each thing makes you feel, you will know who you should be spending more time with.

Sounds romantic. What a backstabber "friend" you had! Sheesh. Okay, visit him in the hospital, that would be so sweet of you and jsut let him know that you're there! He'll like you if you pay a lot of attention to him like that. Number one key, be yourself.

go visit him and take him candy or something, if you still like him, why not let him know? it may work out, even if it doesn't you just said you will not be seeing much of him next year!
