My black lab's tail, to this day she is deathly affraid of the vacuum.

Pennies are always trying to get sucked up in mine. Luckily the vacuum cleaner spits them back out.

Pens and pencils and that really ticks me off as I have often had to punch them through the hose to get them out! LOL Bottle caps, toys, socks, wrappers.
If manufacturers had any brains at all they would make 4 inch hoses...whatever gets sucked up is gone for good. That will teach everyone to put things where they belong and if not, its gone baby.

bugs,i.e. an infestation of crickets that hit everyone in our area-so thick and fast it was the only way-thought we had the plagues of Egypt during biblical times-even on the drapes but none since.
great way to find lost jewelry under furniture
just about anything that isn't tied down such as the aforementioned answers above...
not recommended for finding lost contacts
my beading that roll onto the floor and hate to pick up by hand
