He is so intelligent that he teeters on being a little crazy sometimes. I like him because he has true convictions about his views about the World and politics. He is the former mayor of Lake Jackson TX a very beautiful medium sized town located about 60 or 70 miles south of Houston. I believe he wants to get ride of FEMA and social security. This part of his politics turns me off seriously. Sometimes rich people don't understand the finances of the average American. I really like his views on foreign policy and the war. But his domestic views might put us back further than the war.

He ran for president in 1988 and was soundly rejected by the American public.
He doesn't know that the Federal Reserve System is a government agency run by a board appointed by the president and has been enormously successful at mitigating the boom bust cycle for the past 30 years or so.
He wants to move to a regressive consumption based tax system that will lead to the poor paying a higher % of thier income in tax than the rich.
He wants to pull us out of every multilateral organisation and treaty working to put in place global solutions to global problems.
He actively opposed the WHO program to eradicate small pox - he apparently wanted those 2 million people a year to die.
I know that there is no way I will be voting for him and I know he will not win.

Ron Paul is favored by many for his excellent views on critical issues.

got to be honest about it. I just started reading up on him.

Is he "anti-establishment" and "anti-government"? I hope so!

Maybe we need someone "out of the loop". What little I have seen so far, he sounds better than the rest, but that isn't saying much.

I listened to him a couple of times in various debates. I don't think he understands foreign policy or the world situation very well at all.
