I do wear them... I dont care about swimsuit fashion rules in america... I guess some people are affected by shrinkage in cold water while the rest of us look like we are hiding a squirrel...

Opinions on a guy wearing a speedo are directly linked to a person's age and where they live.

They are still widely worn in the tropics by men of all ages. Why? Because they are not constricting in the water...which may be important if you are diving for conch or crawfish.

Think about it...we ladies don't wear shorts when we swim...why should guys? And if we're talking about how 'decent' they look....does that mean that all women look great in their bathing suits? Did swimming and going to the beach suddenly become some elitist club for the thin?

North America (Canada and US) are quite well known worldwide for being rather modest - at least in comparison to other countries in Europe or further east or south. So its not surprising to see such a closed minded view...

Aesthetics. Men's bodies simply have harder lines, more angles. Speedos are like bikinis. They accentuate curves and more delicate features. Trunks simply do more to accentuate the male physique. Speedos are great if the only thing attractive on a male's body are his penis or testes. If he has anything else to offer, physically, they only detract from it by putting delicate, gentle curves where hard, strong lines would do better.

I believe modesty in dress and fashion is a most important and necessary virtue for both sexes in these immodest and lustful times.
Too much is revealed today, especially concerning women - and it unnecessarily inflames the passions !

Well, ever since gangs of scrotum-slapping teenage girls terrorized the beaches in the mid 1970s, men have wisely made the target less "accessible," shall we say?

Wasn't it kind of an 80's thing?
Could be because women would do comparison shopping, I mean some poor guy would probably get the shaft.

Same reason men shouldn't wear briefs. Need to protect "the boys" in case they want to have children.

Speedos are only great for women....to perv on men. For men, who do wear them, they say it's not very comfortable. Not like boxer shorts or free-balling.

Close your eyes clear your thoughts and picture this . It is dusk and a naked man is streaking down the street. What do we think of him ?We think he is a cracker and up to no good .

1. They would think it makes them look gay or that gay guys would hit on them.

2. They don't have the bodies for it, and they know it.

3. Their friends would make fun of them.

4. They would think women would find them silly looking and not take them seriously.

5. If they don't think their bulge is big enough, they would want to wear something a little less revealing...

6. They feel they are too revealing. Simple modesty.
