your computer is just saying that it's not connected properly, nothing to do with your surfing speed.

quick fix, on the general tab of your Local Area Connection, uncheck the box at the bottom that says "notify me when there is limited or no connectivity"

=)

I always say if its fine don't mess with it.... But thea nswer to your question is simple... Your ISP is verizon right? They have a total different way of connecting to their internet service.. You probably have FIOS right? no modem right? At the controll box outside your house or in your basement they block certain ports which you can access so that you cant (tamper) with other peoples system on the network. But they allow connections over the internet. Your operating system is detecting these blocked ports forced by Verizon and is telling you that you may have limited connectivity to the network... which you do but the port to the internet is wide open for you to use, thats why the internet works fine....

You local area connection is your wireless network off of the router (which you may not know you have) or the ethernet connected to the router, in both cases where you have no other computers to network with and thus have no connectivity.
