Yahoo! Answers has definitely reinforced the notion that there are some absolute dumbasses in this world.

It is just you. There are no absolute morons on these forums. An absolute moron could never figure out how to logon and post a question. I will agree that some of the questions posted here are less than intelligent and/or badly worded. But I have known some very intelligent people who simply did not have the advantage of a decent education. Conversely, I have known others who were well schooled and had very little sense. I have known others still who simply do not speak the language well enough to adequately convey their topic.

My advice is to temper your judgement of the people and questions that you encounter here, because others may be making the same assessment of you.

Yes, there most certainly are a LOT of dumbasses in the world. But give people a break. Some of the people asking questions here are just kids still in high school or even younger, or other people with absolutely no education in philosophy or critical thinking.

Like art, the purpose of philosophy is to get you to think. Some people ask & answer questions here just for entertainment, but many others genuinely care about the questions they're asking or answering. At least some of the "dumbasses" are making an effort to better themselves intellectually, and that's to be commended.

About 99% of people's answers are inadequate to me. I think the best answer is simple, practical, and succinct. I see a lot of jibba jibba instead :P

The notion that moronity can be absolute is absurd. But its an original thought though, thanks.
